Mon premier est un saxophoniste qui s’est illustré dans le jazz new-yorkais, avant de revenir aux sources de sa spiritualité : La Nouvelle Orléans, où Donald Harrison a repris le flambeau à la mort de son père, Big Chief du Mardi-Gras. Depuis dix ans, avec le Congo Nation Afro-New Orleans Group, il rénove sa musique en fouillant du côté de ses racines. Mon second est un groupe de Black Indians, qui est entré dans la légende du rare groove au début des seventies : emmenée par Bo Dollis, la tribu des Wild Magnolias concocte depuis une mixture à base de tambours et de chants en appelant à l’esprit des ancêtres. Mon tout est un double concert inédit à Paris, autant dire un rendez-vous immanquable pour tous les amateurs de great black music. Une expérience à poursuivre pour les curieux le lendemain au Musée du Quai Branly, où Donald Harrison présentera une création autour de Mardi Gras, préparée avec des collégiens et apprentis musiciens de Seine-Saint-Denis.
