Nouveau théâtre de Montreuil / texte de Marion Stenton / mise en scène de Mathieu Bauer / collaboration artistique et composition de Sylvain Cartigny
Le décor est celui du dernier chapitre de L’Amérique de Kafka : « une cour où l’on attend que se produise le miracle dont rêvait Brecht : que l’homme vienne en aide à l’homme », dit la dramaturge Marion Stenton. Dans un étourdissant labyrinthe où se mêlent les langues du melting-pot américain, se croisent ceux qui ouvrent les portes du Nouveau Monde et ceux qui s’y pressent : « d’un côté, les questionneurs, les mesureurs méticuleux, inquisiteurs, les gestionnaires et leur sémantique administrative désarmante, de l’autre, les demandeurs, les témoins, les ventres vides, leur langue heurtée, inquiète, les accents de l’urgence, le tremblement du trac, les inflexions rageuses de la nécessité ». Les jeunes comédiens du groupe 46 de l’école du TNS forment l’orchestre vagabond de cette histoire revisitée de l’Amérique, où se bousculent fantasmes et désillusions.
