Fondée en 1924, cachée au fond de la galerie « Le Palais du Commerce », la Java est l’une des plus anciennes salles de concerts de Paris. Longtemps place forte du music-hall, du musette et de la… java, la salle peut s’enorgueillir d’avoir accueilli des artistes de la trempe de Jean Gabin, Fréhel, Maurice Chevalier, Édith Piaf, Jo Privat ou Django Reinhardt mais aussi de n’avoir jamais perdu, au fil des décennies, sa vocation musicale. Ouverte aujourd’hui à la fois au concert et au clubbing, La Java propose régulièrement d’alléchants et décalés rendez-vous musicaux à l’image ce mois-ci d’une carte blanche au slameur Dgiz (le 10 à 21h), du Cabaret Explosif, (rendez-vous régulier tous les 2èmes lundis du mois) et son mélange performatif de genres et de gens (le 14 à 20h), de la nouvelle édition de Son Libre conçue par Alexandre Authelain et déclinée en 2 sets avec d’abord Élise Dabrowski (contrebasse, voix), Lazare (mots dits) et Gyohei Zaitsu (danse butô) puis le groupe Amok’ Improv’ avec Sylvain Cathala au sax (le 21 à 20h30), et enfin de la prometteuse soirée des « Invendables de la Java » (le 28 à 20h) avec là encore deux plateaux pour explorer les territoires de frottements entre son, voix, musique et mots, en compagnie de Hubertus Bierman (voix) et Le Quan Ninh (percussions), Black Sifichi (voix) et Emmanuelle Gibello (électronique).
