Ces deux très jeunes instrumentistes ont décidé de rapprocher leurs destins musicaux et de fonder le Duo Llyria après s’être rencontrées autour des Folksongs pour chant et harpe de Britten. Un coup de foudre ! Entre elles et avec le compositeur. Depuis elles poursuivent l’exploration, voire l’enrichissent grâce à de nouveaux arrangements du répertoire pour voix et harpe. « N’hésitez jamais à partir loin, au-delà de toutes les mers, toutes les frontières, toutes les croyances. » C’est en s’inspirant de cette phrase d’Amin Maalouf que le duo a conçu le programme de ce périple européen qui chemine des parfums populaires hispaniques de Manuel de Falla aux grandes mélodies italiennes de Bellini ou Donizetti, sans oublier les demi-teintes de la musique française (Ravel se souvenant des mélodies populaires grecques ou une création de Fabien Touchard), et évidemment, last but not least, Benjamin Britten (1913 – 1976) et ses Folk Songs (les premières chansons françaises de 1942 ; les ultimes Eight Folk Song Arrangements de 1976). Une jolie escapade.
