Le metteur en scène et interprète Claude Pelopidas rêve de faire du 9 novembre, date de la chute du mur de Berlin, une journée mondiale contre les murs. En attendant, il a imaginé cette création qui a pour décor un mur de séparation et qui a tourné dans divers continents, à Chypre, en Israël, en Palestine, à Berlin, avant la Corée et les Etats-Unis… Les contacts noués à chaque étape de la tournée ont nourri la création en perpétuelle évolution. Certains murs célèbres ne font pas ici oublier la multitude de ceux qui défigurent la planète, enferment les corps et amputent les âmes de leur pouvoir de conciliation. La pièce invite à l’échange et la rencontre, pour peut-être faire tomber certaines barrières.
Espoir et esprit critique
Elle ouvre un débat politique et humain et oscille entre la comédie et le drame, le banal et le tragique. Le spectacle relate le périple vertigineux et drolatique d’un SDF qui a tendance à transfigurer le réel par le pouvoir de son imaginaire, et s’articule autour d’un travail corporel et sonore avec les danseurs Christina Towle et Philippe Lebhar. C’est une fable ouverte qui en appelle à l’espoir et à l’esprit critique, s’adresse aux publics de tous horizons et transcende les frontières, culturelles ou autres. Le 14 juillet une rencontre-débat intitulée Le théâtre au pied des murs est prévue, avec divers intervenants dont René Backmann, journaliste au Nouvel Obs (attention : son nom sur le net est associé à des forums et logorrhées antisémites dégoulinant de haine), Robert McLiam Wilson, écrivain irlandais et bien sûr Claude Pelopidas, dont le théâtre célèbre joliment et intensément la compréhension et la fraternité.
