« Je viens seul, la voix brute et à mains nues, un cahier sous le bras, jouer à rire, à pleurer, à réfléchir avec des mots que je trouve beaux et qui ne me font plus peur ». Voilà comment Jacques Weber rend compte de ce mouvement qui le porte, après un Seul en scène qui fonctionnait sur le même principe, à proposer au public un nouveau florilège de textes d’auteurs aussi divers que brillants. On connaît le goût pour les classiques de ce comédien qui est resté dans les mémoires, entre autres, pour son interprétation du poète Cyrano de Bergerac ressuscité par la plume de Rostand. De poésie, il sera donc question ici à travers des figures de révoltés – Rimbaud, Artaud, Maïakovski – mais aussi d’un romanesque protéiforme – Flaubert, Boulgakov, Pagnol, Duras – et d’un théâtre aux allures plutôt majestueuses : Molière, Corneille, Claudel.
Faire respirer une littérature trop souvent compartimentée
Depardiesque dans son énergie dévorante et son entrain tonitruant, luchinien dans son plaisir délicat de déguster les mots, Jacques Weber ouvre donc encore une fois sa bibliothèque personnelle, le panthéon des auteurs qui l’ont autant impressionné que porté. Soignant les jointures de cette mosaïque éclectique à coups d’anecdotes et de citations personnelles, de bons mots et de réflexions piquantes, il propose de faire respirer une littérature trop souvent compartimentée, enfermée dans des bouquins où les noms célèbres font parfois office de repoussoirs, répertoriés en siècles, en genres, en écoles, et séparés de ce qui les rapproche tous : ils parlent de la vie avec talent.
