LA SEINE MUSICALE / CRÉATION SCÉNIQUE
D’Egmont de Beethoven, on connaît surtout l’ouverture, une des plus célèbres du compositeur. Un style héroïque qui correspond bien au personnage de la pièce de Goethe : Egmont ou l’histoire du héros libérateur des provinces des Pays-Bas au XVIe siècle. C’est pourtant une musique de scène que Beethoven a écrite, tant la pièce de Goethe lui permettait d’exprimer ses propres préoccupations politiques. Alors qu’elle est habituellement jouée seule, détachée de la pièce de Goethe, Laurence Equilbey, cheffe d’Insula orchestra, et Séverine Chavrier, directrice du CDN d’Orléans, ont eu l’idée de les coupler en créant « un objet singulier, un théâtre filmé et joué sur scène, qui restitue les moments cruciaux de la pièce Egmont et révèle toute la force de la musique exceptionnelle de Beethoven. »
