Née en France, d’une mère grecque et d’un père guinéen, Elisabeth Kontomanou est une artiste plurielle et multiple. Marquée dès l’enfance aussi bien par Stevie Wonder, que Maria Callas ou Carmen McRae, à la fois compositrice, auteur, arrangeur et comédienne, cette magicienne fait résonner dans sa gorge et son cœur tous les tourments et musiques du monde. La profondeur et la beauté de son art s’expriment à un niveau rarement atteint jusqu’à présent dans sa carrière dans l’album « Secret of the wind » qui vient de paraître sur le label Plus Loin. Elisabeth Kontomanou y ouvre un exceptionnel dialogue de femmes avec la grande pianiste Geri Allen, traversant, impériale, dans cet exigeant format piano-voix compositions personnelles, standards, spirituals et même une reprise de Marvin Gaye avec le « God is Love » du légendaire album « What’s Going On » de 1971…
