Grande figure de la scène musicale géorgienne, la pianiste Elisso Bolkvadzé, née dans une famille d’écrivains et poètes, est venue très jeune à la musique. Ses débuts furent fracassants, jouant pour la première fois avec orchestre à l’âge de 7 ans, puis remportant de nombreux prix internationaux : Bach à Leipzig, Long-Thibaud à Paris, Van Cliburn au Texas. Devenue adulte, l’ex-enfant prodige se souvint de ses premiers pas et créa en 2012, dans son pays, la Fondation Lyra pour soutenir et faire connaître les jeunes pianistes géorgiens les plus doués… Musicienne discrète sur les scènes françaises, elle est l’invitée de la salle Gaveau dans un programme très ouvert associant Chopin (Andante Spianato et Grande Polonaise brillante, op.22 ; Scherzo No. 4 op.54), Schubert (Impromptus, op.90 (D899), N° 2, 3 et 4), Debussy (L’Isle Joyeuse) et Prokofiev (Sonate pour piano No. 2, op.17 en ré mineur) où sa musicalité magnifique devrait trouver pleinement à s’exprimer. Ce prochain récital parisien sera donné au profit de la Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer.
