Il est des groupes qui le plus naturellement du monde, sans concept ni stratégie marketing, se jouent des frontières musicales. En dix ans et 3 albums, le trio ETE (E pour Emler, T pour Tchamitchian et E pour Echampard) a ainsi démontré sa capacité, dans un format piano-basse-batterie pourtant des plus codifiés et saturé de propositions, à brouiller les pistes et croiser les signes, mêlant dans un flux musical des plus inspirés et aérés énergie rock, science de l’improvisation et héritage classique-contemporain. « Ces gens, dont nous faisons partie, qui ont le savoir de l’écriture classique et qui ont aussi le talent et l’éducation de la musique en liberté (jazz, pop, rock) font une musique qui existe aujourd’hui mais qui n’a aucune identité. On n’a pas trouvé de terme générique pour décrire ces musiques savantes qui utilisent aussi l’énergie, le groove, l’instinct, l’animalité du musicien… ». En attendant de lui trouver un nom, Andy Emler (piano), Claude Tchamitchian (contrebasse) et Eric Echampard (batterie) restent à l’écoute de cette musique de l’air, du temps et du silence, pour la faire vivre dans toute la force poétique et électrique de l’instant du concert.
