« J’ai envie de mourir, je suis une invivante. », lance une drôle de zig, lâchant son désœuvrement sur un vieux divan effroyablement criard. Chemisette et cravate de scoute, jupe plissée de pensionnat poussiéreux, nattes d’écolière et appendice violacé vissé sur le nez, elle observe l’assistance, mi-coquette, mi-garnement, l’air penaud relevé d’une pointe de malice rigolote. Emma la clown serait-elle gagnée par le spleen ? Voilà brusquement que ses rêves sortent en gargarismes verbeux, où Marilyn Monroe se retrouve en pleine brousse au milieu d’une armée pygmée… Bigre ! Heureusement Ziguemunde Freudeu et Jacques La Canne surgissent de sous le divan en pages reliées serrées et viennent à la rescousse. Après quelques rapides explications des fondamentaux, un bref détour par les phases « bocale », « nanale » « géniale », Emma entreprend donc de psychanalyser… le public. Ce « personnage » verrouillant jalousement son intimité, elle finira par faire elle-même le Monsieur à cigare (ou la Femme à lunettes) et le patient. C’est plus simple (!).
Le rire de l’inconscient
Sauf que le refoulé a souvent bien du mal à lâcher les amarres. Mais Emma a plus d’un stratagème sous son chapeau, même de traviole, pour déloger ses « actes manquants » planqués sous la lie des habitudes : « je » de rôles, combat de boxe très… littéraire, incursions vidéo, chansonnettes, interpellation publique, tricot de mots ou dédoublement avec transfert. Le tout ponctué d’un p’tit coup de scotch à la gourde et d’un Boléro libérateur sur les traumas du quotidien familial. La thérapie de groupe dérive tranquillement dans une douce loufoquerie, malgré quelques creux. A la fois naïve et rouée, enjouée et névrosée, Meriem Menant manie les fils d’une réflexion gorgée d’humour sur le mal de vivre, débusquant les maux cachés derrière la façade radieuse, tout en éraflant au passage le savant bavardage de la psychanalyse. Avec elle, la mélancolie chatouille le burlesque, l’angoisse inquiète le comique. Une finesse bouffonne touchante.
