Nanterre-Amandiers / conception, texte et mise en scène Milo Rau
Milo Rau propose un théâtre singulier. Le fondateur de l’International Institute of Political Murder crée des spectacles qui flirtent avec le documentaire, privilégiant la forme du témoignage, du récit autobiographique, croisant des thématiques sociales et politiques. Avec The civil Wars et The dark Ages, qu’on a pu découvrir à Nanterre-Amandiers les saisons passées, il a entamé une trilogie sur l’Europe, qui s’achève avec Empire. Même principe : les comédiens mélangent récit personnel et textes de théâtre pour interroger cette fois la face méditerranéenne de l’Europe, et ces migrants « dont les destinées tragiques résonnent avec les mythes de l’ancienne Grèce ».
Un sujet brûlant avec des enfants
Cap au Nord avec Five easy pieces. Invité par CAMPO, centre d’art basé à Gand, à créer avec des enfants, comme Philippe Quesne l’avait fait en 2014 avec Next day, Milo Rau a décidé de travailler sur l’affaire Dutroux. Un sujet brûlant qui sera l’occasion de questionner le théâtre et la représentation. Milo Rau demande à des enfants âgés de 8 à 13 ans de jouer des scènes faisant parler un officier de police, le père de l’assassin ou d’une victime… Une manière d’étudier nos tabous, nos peurs, nos relations à l’enfance et la manière dont les enfants appréhendent le monde.
