C’est à partir d’une expérience personnelle qui lui rappela subitement son statut d’étranger en Europe qu’Amir Reza Koohestani a construit cette pièce. En 2018, parti de Téhéran et en partance pour le Chili, il a fait escale à Munich, où à cause d’une erreur concernant son visa il fut retenu avant d’être renvoyé à Téhéran. Lorsqu’il lui a été proposé par le Thalia Theater à Hambourg d’adapter le roman Transit d’Anna Seghers, qui retrace les tourments de personnes fuyant le régime nazi et en attente d’un visa dans le port de Marseille, il a décidé de conjuguer les espaces et les temporalités, entrelaçant sa propre expérience (évidemment beaucoup moins inquiétante) et celle des fugitifs en 1940.
Face-à-face statiques
La zone de transit est ici un espace gris et nu, animé par une scénographie sophistiquée avec panneaux coulissants. Quatre comédiennes – Mahin Sadri dans le rôle de Reza, Khazar Masoumi dans celui d’une avocate qui aide les personnes en difficulté, Danae Dario et Agathe Lecomte – interprètent la partition, le plus souvent lors de face-à-face statiques. La parole circule d’un espace-temps à l’autre, éclairant l’absurdité d’une froide bureaucratie figée dans ses normes, sans jamais parvenir à laisser émerger les enjeux humains avec suffisamment de force.
