Né voici quinze ans, sous l’impulsion du compositeur et saxophoniste Jean-Rémy Guédon, l’ensemble Archimusic n’a cessé de vouloir créer des ponts entre l’univers de l’écrit et la sphère de l’improvisation, le monde des notes et celui des mots, des gestes… En témoignent leurs disques, dont le terrible « Sade Songs » en 2006, et leurs nombreux concerts qui les ont emmenés au-delà du seul terroir du jazz, jusqu’au territoire « sacré » du Bénin. C’est encore le cas avec « Terres Arc-en-Ciel » dont l’idée est de « s’inspirer librement des rites et symboles reliés aux pratiques surnaturelles pour offrir une création contemporaine où la musique et les mots dialoguent de concert ». Résultat : une suite de six mouvements, chacun symbolisant un « esprit », composée par Jean-Rémy Guédon et le formidable trompettiste Nicolas Genest. Le tout placé sous l’aura du génial Henri Guédon, disparu en 2006, à qui l’on doit quelques merveilles « créolisées ».
