POISSY / MUSIQUE BAROQUE
On sait peu que parmi les femmes cloîtrées dans des couvents, au XVIIe siècle, certaines composèrent et même publièrent de la musique sacrée. C’est le cas de l’Italienne Chiara Margarita Cozzolani (1602 – environ 1676), la cadette d’une riche famille de marchands, qui fut religieuse au couvent bénédictin de Sainte-Radegonde à Milan. À la tête de son ensemble I Gemelli, le ténor Emiliano Gonzalez Toro fait entendre ses Vêpres à l’écriture riche et inventive, expressive et délicate, et à la polyphonie maîtrisée. Une œuvre que l’ensemble connaît bien pour l’avoir enregistrée l’an dernier pour le label Naïve, ici donnée au Théâtre de Poissy à l’acoustique exceptionnelle, en partenariat avec le festival baroque de Pontoise.
