Une longue complicité unit Alexandros Markeas (né à Athènes en 1965) et l’ensemble TM+ (fondé à Paris en 1986). Le compositeur (qui est également pianiste) et le chef d’orchestre (qui est aussi compositeur) partagent un même esprit d’ouverture, tant pour le répertoire — tous deux refusent d’enfermer la « musique contemporaine » dans des frontières trop hermétiques — que pour la pensée en général. Deux exemples : l’oratorio engagé Ypokosmos, créé en 2014 par TM+, qui intégrait les musiques populaires traditionnelles grecques à un langage contemporain (ou était-ce l’inverse ?) ; l’opéra La Vallée de l’étonnement, que Laurent Cuniot créera en novembre, mise en musique des chemins de la mémoire inspirée par la pièce de Peter Brook et Marie-Hélène Estienne. Nouvelle étape dans ce rapport curieux au monde avec cette cantate, croisement des mythes grec et hindou d’Icare et Sampati. À TM+ se joignent un chœur de femmes de Chittagong (Bangladesh) et les chanteuses Géraldine Keller et Clara Pertuy.
