C’est en puisant dans le Yi-King (« Livre des mutations »), une des œuvres fondatrices de la philosophie chinoise, que Josef Nadj a trouvé matière à création. Composé de 64 hexagrammes, qui renvoient à autant d’états transitoires, ce traité millénaire tire de la dualité du Yin et du Yang une puissante arithmétique pour décrire les états du monde, leurs variantes et leurs évolutions. Maniant images symboliques et gestuelles cocasses en un chapelet de saynètes mystérieuses, le chorégraphe a composé un rébus spectaculaire qui suit la structure du Yi-king. Le double quatuor, avec d’un côté Akosh Szelevényi, compositeur, poly-instrumentiste, accompagné de trois musiciens, de l’autre Josef Nadj et trois danseurs, se déploie aux rythmes du free jazz dans un enchevêtrement d’espaces mouvants, pour révéler les jeux d’interactions complexes entre les corps… « Je ne veux pas, dit Nadj, que la musique “s’aligne”, mais qu’elle participe d’emblée à la matière de l’événement. ». Cet Entracte de 64 minutes égrène des éclats de rêve qui laissent sourdre l’étrange poésie de l’humain.
