PANTIN/MUSIQUES IMPROVISÉES
Une voix qui fait songer à l’archange Antony, une guitare qui rappelle les accords distordus de Marc Ribot, un tamis électronique qui produit d’étranges échos, le Canadien s’inscrit dans le sillon des meilleurs troubadours rétro-futuristes de l’Americana. Figure du Do It Yourself de Toronto des années post-punk, Eric Chenaux a signé quelques merveilles, dont en 2012 un premier solo, sobrement intitulé Guitar & Voice, ou le fantastique Skullsplitter, un univers d’ombres et lumières, tout à la fois souterrain et solaire, toujours à fleur de cordes. Cette année, celui qui habite en périphérie de Paris, désormais en résidence à La Dynamo, a publié Slowly Paradise, où ses mélodies fragiles, sublimement parasitées, fascinent, tout comme son timbre subtilement ambigu et doucement déviant enchante. Un rendez-vous essentiel, d’autant que le second concert verra le fantasque contrebassiste Fantazio se frotter au violoniste Théo Ceccaldi, pour un concert dans les cordes – décadrées, ça va sans dire…
