Né en 1967, Eric Lebrun a été élève de Gaston Litaize puis de Michel Chapuis au Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris. En 1990, il se distingue au Concours international de Chartres puis se voit nommé titulaire du magnifique grand orgue Cavaillé-Coll de l’église Saint-Antoine des Quinze-Vingts, sur lequel il signera par la suite ses très beaux enregistrements consacrés à Jehan Alain, Franck ou Duruflé. Lui-même compositeur, il aborde avec une sensibilité très particulière la musique de notre temps (Kamillo Lendvay, Escaich, Valéry Aubertin, etc…), à commencer par Messiaen dont il interprète aujourd’hui la Messe de la Pentecôte. Cette œuvre de 1950 était considérée par son auteur comme « le résumé de toutes mes improvisations réunies », des inventions de l’instant conçues sur cet orgue de l’église de La Trinité entre 1948 et 1950 et souvent inspirées par des chants d’oiseaux… Un trésor de la littérature pour orgue.
