Pourquoi avez-vous décidé, avec Rémi De Vos, de donner une suite à Jusqu’à ce que la mort nous sépare ?
Eric Vigner : Car nous avions envie de poursuivre notre collaboration avec Micha Lescot, d’aller plus loin avec lui dans l’exploration de Simon, le personnage qu’il interprétait dans Jusqu’à ce que la mort nous sépare. Sextett est construit comme une étape supplémentaire du parcours de ce personnage dans son rapport avec les femmes, dans sa confrontation avec leurs désirs. Et puis, à cela s’est greffée mon envie de travailler avec cinq comédiennes : Anne-Marie Cadieux, Marie-France Lambert, Maria de Medeiros, Johanna Nizard et Jutta Johanna Weiss. Cette pièce a vraiment été écrite pour ces six acteurs, à partir d’eux, de leur corps, de leur personnalité…
Dans Sextett, retrouve-t-on Simon au même endroit où Rémi De Vos l’avait laissé dans Jusqu’à ce que la mort nous sépare ?
E. V. : Non, il a évolué.Dans Jusqu’à ce que la mort…, Simon revenait dans la maison de sa mère après le décès de sa grand-mère. Il s’agissait alors, d’un adolescent qui avait à résoudre une problématique maternelle. Dans Sextett, il s’agit d’un jeune homme qui va devenir adulte à la suite de la mort de sa mère. Après les obsèques de celle-ci, il revient chez elle, pensant que cette disparition va le libérer de quelque chose. C’est alors qu’il est assailli par un certain nombre de créatures féminines qui le questionnent sur ses désirs, sur son identité, sur son avenir…

Vous vous êtes approprié ce texte pour en faire une « comédie érotique, déjantée et musicale où le rire, le sexe et les larmes font bon ménage »…
E. V. : Oui. De la même façon que je n’avais pas souhaité donner à Jusqu’à ce que la mort nous sépare une couleur réaliste, j’ai cherché à porter Sextett vers un univers fantasmagorique, un univers de l’inconscient, de l’intime… Je me suis inspiré de films de David Lynch ou de Stanley Kubrick, spécialement d’Eyes wide shut. Sextett est une fantaisie parfois délirante, une série de variations sur la complexité des désirs, des rapports entre le masculin et le féminin.
Quel regard portez-vous sur l’écriture de Rémi De Vos ?
E. V. : Il s’agit d’une écriture qui peut avoir l’air assez légère au premier abord, mais qui se révèle beaucoup plus profonde lorsqu’on l’étudie de plus près. Rémi De Vos n’élabore pas un théâtre de sens, de vérités, mais un théâtre de l’intime qui parle très fort de l’inconscient. C’est un auteur qui, d’une certaine façon, écrit pour se sauver. Dans ses pièces, la vie est un exutoire à la folie. Si ses personnages ne riaient pas, ils finiraient tous par mourir ou par devenir fou. De ce point de vue, Rémi De Vos rend compte du temps présent de façon extrêmement juste, extrêmement aiguë.
