BAGNEUX / MUSIQUES DU MONDE
Chanteuse, multi-instrumentiste (flûte avant tout mais aussi percussions, en particulier le tama, claviers, effets…) et compositrice : c’est une musicienne accomplie que l’on découvre avec Esinam Dogbatse, invitée du cycle « Jazz au féminin » du Théâtre Victor-Hugo de Bagneux. La belgo-ghanéenne, qui a longtemps joué en solo sans filet, formule où son charisme naturel fait merveille, se produit désormais en quartet. Un groupe issu de la bouillonnante scène bruxelloise avec lequel elle vient de signer un premier album assez envoûtant, intitulé « Shapes in Twilights of Infinity », composé de Pablo Casella (guitare), Axel Gilain (basse, contrebasse, moog) et Martin Méreau (batterie, vibraphone). En onze titres, elle nous fait plonger dans un monde foisonnant de mélodies rêveuses, façonnant une multitude d’alliages musicaux et sonores, entre jazz, électro et tradition africaine de l’Ouest, en particulier éwé en référence aux origines de son père.
