Espaço contratempo est la nouvelle création de Frank Micheletti, qui n’a jamais si bien reflété l’esprit de « comptoir d’échanges artistiques » de la compagnie Kubilai Khan Investigations. Avec la présence du danseur Idio Francisco Chichava, compagnon de route du chorégraphe depuis Gyrations of Barbarous Tribes et Geografia, le spectacle se construit dans l’interaction des énergies de la danse et de la musique. Comme ses précédentes pièces, il porte également l’empreinte de la musique du groupe Kafka, avec, au centre du dispositif, le guitariste Rémi Aurine-Bélloc.
Une œuvre en transformation
D’abord présenté sous un format court avec deux danseurs, lors d’une étape de création au Japon où Frank Micheletti a bénéficié d’une résidence de création à la Villa Kujoyama de Kyoto, Espaço contratempo prend sa forme définitive aux Hivernales dans une version plus longue et plus fouillée. Déjà, avec le danseur mozambicain, on sentait la porosité des énergies, les deux hommes jouant des fulgurances gestuelles propres au chorégraphe, entre sol et air. Vibrations, résonnances, flux du temps et de l’espace qui glisse, les corps et les ondes sonores s’entrechoquent dans un dialogue mouvant et sensible.
