Le titre évoque irrésistiblement la chanson de Christophe, ce tube des années 60. Pourtant, l’impulsion première du spectacle Et j’ai crié Aline, concocté par Thierry Romanens et Robert Sandoz, vient d’un roman de jeunesse de l’écrivain suisse Charles Ferdinand Ramuz, Aline. Dans ce texte de 1905, « à l’intrigue simple et puissante », « faussement naïve », comme la décrit Thierry Romanens, une jeune femme d’origine modeste se laisse séduire par le fils d’un riche paysan du village – une passion destructrice qui se terminera par un infanticide. Mais ce n’est pas un hasard si le titre de cette nouvelle création du Théâtre Kléber-Méleau se réfère à la chanson de Christophe : pour les deux auteurs du spectacle, qui en sont à leur troisième collaboration théâtralo-musicale avec le trio de jazz Format A’3, « il s’agit là d’un filtre qui joue avec l’horizon d’attente du public, tout en établissant avec lui une truculente complicité. »
