Festival d’Avignon /Cour du collège Joseph-Vernet / concert
Adaptée d’après l’œuvre de Mahmoud Darwich (1941-2008), Et la Terre se transmet comme la langue est une aventure à la fois lyrique et musicale qui ambitionne de célébrer un homme considéré comme l’un des plus grands poètes arabes contemporains. Portée par le vibraphoniste et compositeur Franck Tortiller (ancien directeur de l’Orchestre National de Jazz) et Elias Sanbar (écrivain palestinien et traducteur de Darwich, connu pour allier les cultures arabe et française), cette création plonge le spectateur dans un voyage épique et poétique, pour récitant et un petit orchestre de six musiciens de jazz actuel. Abordant des sujets tels que la condition des exilés de guerre (enfants, combattants, voyageurs, héros, fuyards, martyrs, croyants…), l’emprisonnement mais aussi l’amour, le retour et le concept de « maison », cette pièce en forme d’oratorio fait résonner, hors de tout orientalisme, mais non sans fougue, la langue poétique et la langue musicale.
