Sur cette pulsion violente et permanente d’asservir l’autre, il fallait bien le filtre du mythe et la panoplie de la foire. Pierre Notte a écrit ce texte à partir d’un fait divers : l’affaire Josef Fritzl, cet autrichien qui pendant 25 ans a séquestré et violé sa fille, assassiné leur enfant né de l’inceste. Et le théâtre une fois de plus est là pour accueillir les monstres. Non pour les stigmatiser, mais afin d’en révéler l’ordinaire. « Ni l’écriture ni le théâtre ne protègent en rien du pire, ni de la criminalité de l’homme, ni de sa détermination à rapetisser l’autre, ni à l’écraser, ni de cette propension à mesurer sa puissance en étouffant l’autre, écrit Pierre Notte, mais cela permet quelques instants au moins d’y voir un peu plus clair, et de respirer mieux dans les adversités domestiques ». Un enfant tue le loup et endosse sa fourrure. Plus jamais, le loup ne permettra que l’on dise que « l’homme est un loup pour l’homme » : l’homme est bien pire. Et l’enfant violé, meurtri, retourne voir ses parents. Non pas pour se venger mais pour les exhiber. Cette fable où l’on se rit du noir plonge ses racines dans les univers des contes pour enfants et du cirque de foire. A découvrir.
