« Le rendez-vous est familial, convivial, scolaire, à la fois intime et collectif ». C’est ce qu’explique Pierre Quay-Thévenon, actuel maire-adjoint à la culture de la ville de Saint-Denis, municipalité qui créa le festival Et moi alors ?, en collaboration avec le Centre dramatique national Gérard-Philipe, il y a aujourd’hui 8 ans. « On peut vivre le théâtre, le conte, le cirque, la marionnette comme ce moment précieux d’échange et de pensée entre des générations très différentes, confie l’élu. On peut vivre ce moment pour la première fois comme pour ces bébés que l’on accueille avec leurs parents. On peut vivre cette fête à la Plaine comme au centre-ville, au Théâtre Gérard-Philipe. » Pour cette édition 2010, la ville et le Centre dramatique national de Saint-Denis présentent un programme artistique qui, comme les années précédentes, privilégie des spectacles inventifs, aux univers forts et souvent poétiques. Théâtre d’objets, d’ombres et de marionnettes (Flon-Flon et musette), version théâtrale des Misérables (Tempête sous un crâne), conte (Je leur construisais des labyrinthes), spectacle pour un danseur et une marionnette (Krafff), cirque-théâtre (Racines), création mêlant danse et multimédia (Barocco), théâtre musical (Plis/Sons). Des propositions pour jeune public à partir de 2, 4, 6, 7, 8 et 12 ans qui ont pour ambition de « toucher au cœur » tous les spectateurs. Quel que soit leur âge.
