« Le hasard est l’effet d’une cause qui nous échappe » explique Kurt Demey avec son ton malicieux de mentaliste flamand. L’artiste plasticien de formation promène depuis quelques années déjà sa magie nouvelle sur les scènes, qui réfléchit sur l’art tout autant qu’elle en magnifie le pouvoir de stupéfaction. Dans Évidences inconnues, par exemple, deux spectateurs se retrouvent à ouvrir la porte du domicile d’un spectateur qu’ils ne connaissent pas. Ou, sans se concerter, deux autres vivent à distance des expériences exactement similaires.
Plus que de la magie
Au centre du spectacle se tient donc le hasard, qu’avec son complice Joris Vanvinckenroye à la contrebasse et ses accompagnements techno-pop-rock Kurt Demey cherche à interroger. Via des numéros troublants qui n’épargneront pas les convictions des plus rationalistes, le spectateur réfléchira ainsi sur la place qu’il accorde réellement au hasard au quotidien. Sur la ligne de crête entre nos convictions les plus ancrées et notre désir d’être étonnés, le spectacle déploie une mise en scène qui mélange dimensions plastique, musicale, corporelle, et expériences interactives pour mieux « mettre à nu notre désir de connaître le sens caché des choses ».
