Ex vivo in vitro, la création sur la question de la vie, manipulable ou non, par le metteur en scène Jean-François Peyret et le neurobiologiste Alain Prochiantz, convoque sur la scène les paroles librement distribuées du scientifique, du médecin, du psychanalyste, de l’anthropologue, du juriste, du prêtre et du politique. À écouter, des manières d’aphorismes qui donnent à réfléchir, jetés en l’air dans la désinvolture et la bonne humeur. En vrac : « Je suis le serial donneur, je veux répandre le sperme sur la planète », « On ne peut pas associer la grossesse, un état intime, à une pratique sociale », « Qu’est-ce que ça fait à un enfant de n’être pas le fruit d’une rencontre amoureuse ? », « Ces manipulations ne respectent plus la différence des sexes, ni celle des générations. On n’est plus conçu dans le plaisir », ou encore « Ne pas naître est une maladie dont on peut guérir ». Ainsi, la nature de l’homme est bien de ne pas avoir de Nature car celle-ci est discriminatoire. La Nature sert à diviniser l’existence. « Que serions-nous sans le secours de ce qui n’existe pas ? », dit le philosophe. L’homme, quoiqu’il en pense, est plus proche de la technique, et sa raison est ouverte à l’immanence technologique. À la question de l’identité de l’enfant, de la quête et de l’énigme de ses origines, répond le besoin d’une histoire qui lui soit propre, la nécessité de la narration d’une vie et non d’une information.
Tous les acteurs se perdent dans cette jungle
D’après Musil dans L’Homme sans qualité, le « cours » de la vie est indispensable à l’homme, une impression ressentie « comme un abri dans le chaos ». Les hommes sont plutôt des narrateurs d’eux-mêmes, non des poètes. Or, la vie est tissée de nos oublis ; ce n’est donc pas le récit qui fait l’identité, mais la qualité de l’écriture. Les questionnements sur le plateau sont savoureux, relayés par la présence de comédiens singuliers. D’abord, le poétique Jacques Bonnaffé, mitre de pape fichée sur la tête, homme dénudé portant soutien-gorge, erre dans un fouillis scénique de lianes. De même, Yvo Mertens, polyglotte amusant et sportif. Puis, Anne-Laure Tondu, danseuse facétieuse en tutu blanc romantique, et enfin, Pascal Ternisien, mystérieux et hiératique. Tous les acteurs se perdent dans cette jungle, sorte de pluie de cordes accrochées aux cintres – , lianes de singe à la manière de Tarzan, stalactites, spermatozoïdes, molécules d’ADN, cordes de pendus. C’est une savane couverte de hautes herbes, de broussailles et d’arbres, où vivent les grands fauves que sont les hommes. Puis, viennent les chutes successives et brutales de ces chaînes d’ADN qui font l’homme. L’invention judicieuse ne cache pas une mise en scène tirée par les cheveux, qui ne parvient que dans l’ennui à se hisser à hauteur du propos. Le théâtre de Peyret dérape sur la marche du vivant dont il est question.
