La Suisse aurait-elle décidé d’en finir tranquillement avec sa réputation ? Les artistes suisses en tout cas ne s’embarrassent pas d’une neutralité bon teint et taillent dans le vif de notre époque. Loin de rester dans le périmètre balisé d’un art désarmé, ils explorent, essaient, déplacent, décalent, décapent. En témoigne Extraball, festival affuté par le Centre culturel suisse, qui, durant trois jours, croise spectacles, performances, installations et concerts électro. Le Suisse Yan Duyvendak et l’Egyptien Omar Ghayatt ouvrent ainsi la première édition avec un Made in Paradise résolument politique qui vise le terrorisme sécuritaire et mobilise le spectateur. Partant de leur rencontre, de la confrontation entre deux cultures et deux philosophies de l’action, entre « Just do it » et « Inch Allah », ils démontent les discours dominants sur l’Autre suintant la peur et le rejet. Dans un geste tout aussi radicalement tragi-comique, Jo Dunkel rejoue dans Dead Funny III la disparition répétée du clown, symptôme d’un temps qui voudrait bien faire taire la subversion rieuse.
Explorations transgenres
N’empêche, certains résistent à l’injonction disciplinaire : Esperanza López et Oskar Gómez Mata, meneurs frondeurs de L’Alakran, font tinter les Psychophonies de l’âme avec une joyeuse insolence, comme pour mieux sonder l’acte de création. Le musicien Kid Chocolat et le réalisateur Pascal Greco regardent la vie en Super 8, album-film mixant images, sons bruts, voix, guitares et synthétiseurs dans un étrange maelström psychédélique. La compagnie Alias se livre à de curieuses danses sous contraintes qui se glissent aux creux des interstices quotidiens : les corps, sous l’emprise de l’alcool dans 0.5 ‰ ou sous un amas de marchandises dans Camelô, défient la virtuosité comme la gravité. La chorégraphe Cindy Van Acker continue quant à elle de filer le lien entre mouvement et contexte, achevant un cycle de six soli avec Nixe, interprété par Perrine Valli sur une musique de Mika Vainio (membre de Pan sonic). Autant dire donc que ce premier opus risque sérieusement de décaler le regard et d’ouvrir les champs de visions par-delà les frontières de genres !
