Des concertos de Mozart, des sonates de Beethoven, tout dernièrement des sonates de Haydn… La discographie récente de Fazil Say (chez Naïve) le replonge à la source des grands maîtres classiques. En récital au TCE, il reste sur cette ligne en revenant à Bach, le compositeur de son deuxième enregistrement qui a tant fait pour sa renommée mais aussi sa sulfureuse réputation. Agitateur à la recherche de l’effet facile pour les uns, artiste inspiré et novateur pour les autres, Say joue Bach (comme n’importe quelle autre musique) avant tout en compositeur et homme du XXIè siècle, cherchant, et souvent trouvant au plus profond de lui une voix intime qui lui parle. Et qui nous parle… A condition d’oublier tout ce que l’on croit savoir ou comprendre de cette musique. Pour son nouveau rendez-vous élyséen, Fazil Say réunit Bach (Chaconne de la Partita en ré mineur BWV 1004/transcription de Busoni ; Passacaille en ut mineur BWV 582/transcription de Say ; Fantaisie en sol mineur BWV 542/transcription de Say) et le Prokofiev percussif et puissant de la Sonate n° 7 en si bémol majeur.
