Que ce soit avec Bruno Beltrao ou avec la compagnie Membros, les scènes internationales ont pu découvrir il y a quelques années l’émergence d’un hip hop brésilien sans concession. Tais Vieira et Paulo Azevedo ont fondé Membros en 1999, en proposant à des jeunes sans perspectives d’avenir une expérience de formation et de professionnalisation à travers le hip hop. La trilogie d’où est issu Febre (fièvre) traite de la violence, qu’elle soit physique ou symbolique, à travers des corps souvent soumis à leur propre brutalité. Le mur qui se dresse en fond de scène est là pour rappeler les barrières et les limites laissées par la société et l’environnement qui bride les individus. Les danseurs s’y jettent littéralement, déploient une énergie démesurée pour exploser devant nous. Bourreaux et victimes de leur propre danse, ils repoussent les limites du hip hop pour en faire un véritable langage contemporain, décomplexé et assumant sa physicalité, sa violence, sa dureté.
