En avril dernier déjà, Ferenc Vizi, qui a signé un enregistrement magistral de l’œuvre sur le label Anima en novembre 2014, jouait en concert à Paris, à l’Institut Goethe, les incroyables Variations Diabelli de Beethoven, en souvenir de son professeur récemment disparu Gérard Frémy, à qui il doit la découverte de ce joyau de virtuosité d’écriture et de jeu pianistique. A l’occasion de son prochain récital au Théâtre de la Ville où il est régulièrement invité, le pianiste revient sur ce chef-d’œuvre qu’il aborde en semblant répondre à un véritable appel. « Il faut sentir quand on a vraiment envie de faire sonner une œuvre » affirme le pianiste. C’est visiblement son cas face à ces magistrales « Diabelli » dont il livre une vision rayonnante pleine de hauteur, d’éclats virtuoses et de profondeur spirituelle. Et l’on se surprend, en écoutant et réécoutant ce grand Beethovénien (né en Transylvanie en 1974), à se souvenir que Ferenc Vizi ne doit son passage, dans sa jeunesse, de l’accordéon (son premier instrument) au piano, qu’au discernement et au soutien du directeur d‘une petite école de musique de province dont il croisa la route par hasard…
