Des chambres d’hôtel, une université, une salle de conseil municipal, un jardin, un gymnase, les rues et les trottoirs d’une ville… En s’invitant dans des lieux inattendus de Valence, le festival Ambivalence(s) (initié par l’équipe du Centre dramatique national Drôme-Ardèche, en collaboration avec diverses institutions culturelles valentinoises) souhaite repenser la place de l’art dans l’espace public, transformer le territoire urbain pour qu’il devienne tout entier décor, écrin éphémère de paroles d’auteurs d’aujourd’hui, jeunes ou déjà confirmés. « Pour sa première édition, explique Richard Brunel, directeur de la Comédie de Valence, « Ambivalence(s) traque amoureusement une Valence invisible, celle qui pudiquement se cache, celle que nous ignorons, celle que l’usure du regard nous a fait oublier. »
Faire battre à l’unisson les divers cœurs de Valence
Faisant le pari que le théâtre agira comme le révélateur d’une cité mystérieuse et secrète, qu’il dévoilera ses contradictions, ses ambivalences, les membres du collectif artistique du centre dramatique national (Éric Massé, Angélique Clairand, Catherine Ailloud-Nicolas, Thierry Thieû Niang, Olivier Balazuc, Lancelot Hamelin, Norah Krief, Séverine Magois, Richard Brunel) convient les Valentinois à découvrir des créations aux quatre coins de leur ville. Des créations singulières — une déambulation à la recherche de mythes perdus et d’histoires rêvées, une conférence qui couche Valence sur le divan, une visite poétique d’un musée des bizarreries africaines, un bal littéraire, une invitation à s’immiscer dans l’intimité de chambres d’hôtel… — qui visent à dessiner un « urbanisme de l’imaginaire », à « déplacer notre regard, à créer des liens et explorer la cartographie de nos vies ».
