Imaginé au lendemain des émeutes urbaines qui avaient secoué la ville en 2005, comme pour inventer une traduction positive et artistique à ces expressions de révolte et de souffrance (sentiments très présents dans le Blues), ce festival est devenu en quelques années un véritable rendez-vous pour les amateurs les plus exigeants de cette musique. La présence héroïque en 2010 aux Grammy Awards de Los Angeles de l’album « Chicago blues. A Living History», produit par la ville en hommage à quelques grands vétérans de la scène blues de Chicago (dont Billy Boy Arnold) a évidemment beaucoup compté pour le rayonnement du festival. L’édition 2011 d’Aulnay All Bluesn’est pas en reste avec, en ouverture, un retour à Chicago en présence deLeanne Faine, la plus grande chanteuse Gospel du cru, accompagnée par la Chorale Favor (le 17), avec la rencontre choc de Taj Mahal en personne, musicien légendaire inventeur d’un blues universelqui brasse depuis toujours les traditions américaines du genre et les musiques d’Afrique de l’Ouest, avec la grande chanteuse mauritanienne Malouma, dite la "Diva du désert » (le 19), avant un nouveau crochet vers le son de Chicago en compagnie du West Side Soul, mix de Soul et de Blues, de Mike Avery et Nellie "Tiger" Travis (le 24) puis enfin un retour aux sources avec l’Heritage Blues Orchestra, dépositaire indiscuté du Deep Blues du Mississipi (le 26).
