En écho à l’exposition « Âmes Sauvages. Le Symbolisme dans les pays baltes », qui célèbre le centenaire de l’indépendance des pays baltes jusqu’au 15 juillet, le musée d’Orsay propose une programmation pluridisciplinaire dominée par une affiche musicale du plus haut intérêt. Plus de deux cents musiciens et chanteurs issus des pays baltes se partageront dans ce cadre le plateau d’une dizaine de concerts. Invité d’honneur, le violoniste et chef d’orchestre Gidon Kremer à la tête de son ensemble la Kremerata Baltica et le Chœur de chambre Philharmonique d’Estonie assurent le concert d’ouverture, le 22 mai à 20h30, sous la grande nef du musée dans un programme passionnant partagé entre le compositeur (et peintre) lituanien Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875 – 1911), Claude Debussy et trois compositeurs contemporains : l’estonien Arvo Pärt et les lettons Georgs Pelēcis et Pēteris Vasks. A signaler aussi une série de mini-concerts, donnés par trois chœurs semi-professionnels et amateurs dont l’Ensemble Vocal Laeta Voce (Lituanie) et le Chœur Vox Populi (Estonie) les samedi 26 et dimanche 27, et enfin, en concert de clôture, un récital de la pianiste lituanienne Mūza Rubackytė dans des œuvres de Čiurlionis, du letton Jāzeps Vītols, de l’estonien Heino Eller, et aussi de Scriabine (le 29).
