Habituel rendez-vous des amateurs de piano romantique, le Festival Chopin à Paris, 25e du nom, ne déroge pas à ses habitudes. Chopin bien sûr sera présent à chacun des concerts (dont deux après-midi en entrée libre avec de jeunes pianistes les 15 et 22 juin), mais éclairé par d’autres figures du romantisme. En ouverture, François-René Duchâble donne, avec les Préludes op. 28 un écho musical aux poèmes de Rilke, Hugo ou Ronsard lus par Alain Carré. Puis Pascal Amoyel (le 22 juin), François-Joël Thiollier (le 26), Marie-Josèphe Jude (le 29), Marc-André Hamelin (le 2 juillet), Marie-Catherine Girod (le 3) ou encore Momo Kodama en clôture le 14 juillet confronteront l’univers de Chopin à celui de Scriabine, Rachmaninov, Brahms, Alkan, Mendelssohn… Enfin, clin d’œil au jardins de Bagatelle qui accueillent le festival depuis un quart de siècle, les interprètes ont tous glissé dans leur récital une pièce évoquant le lieu, du Jardin de Dolly de Fauré par Philippe Bianconi aux Jardins sous la pluie de Debussy par Per Tengstrand.
