« Comment continuer à partager un espace public, cher à notre imaginaire d’utopistes, alors que frilosité et privatisation rôdent ? Comment maintenir coûte que coûte cette hargne de la recherche et de la création dans une ville ouverte à tous ? » A Aurillac, les artistes n’hésitent pas à piétiner joyeusement les platebandes du politiquement correct, taillées aux ciseaux de la rentabilité. Rendez-vous incontournable des aficionados des arts de la rue, le festival poursuit l’échappée belle hors des sentiers battus de la pensée disciplinaire. Cette édition témoigne de la vitalité et de la diversité de la création européenne dans l’espace public : aux côtés des fidèles (Agence Tartar(e), Carnage Productions , Cirque Trottola, Groupe Merci, Metalovoice, Osmosis Cie…), des compagnies venues d’Autriche, de Belgique, du Chili, d’Espagne, d’Italie, des Pays-Bas, de Suisse ou encore de Slovénie se croiseront sur le pavé, parfois œuvreront ensemble. Le hongrois Arpad Schilling et sa compagnie Krétakör se sont ainsi alliés au Phun pour imaginer les aventures de Père Courage. Durant quatre jours, les quelques vingt invités du In et les 450 compagnies du Off vont transformer la ville en un « théâtre à 360 », foisonnant d’imaginaires : le meilleur antidote à la résignation collective.
