La 62ème édition du Festival de Besançon s’ouvre avec le célèbre Concours de jeunes chefs d’Orchestre. En cinquante éditions, cette compétition a contribué à distinguer quelques baguettes marquantes dont celles de Seiji Ozawa, Michel Plasson, Yutaka Sado et Lionel Bringuier. Cette cuvée 2009 du concours sera marquée par la participation d’une formation invitée de rayonnement international : le BBC Symphony Orchestra. Vingt jeunes maestros sont sur les rangs ! Rendez-vous lors de la finale (publique) avec l’affrontement des trois derniers candidats dans des œuvres de Edith Canat de Chizy (compositrice en résidence), Mendelssohn et Berlioz (Symphonie Fantastique), le 19 septembre à 20 h. Dans les pas (entre autres) de Berlioz, justement, la suite du programme du festival propose un passionnant et inépuisable « Voyage en Italie », prétexte à de belles rencontres, du duo voix-contrebasse de jazz transalpin Musica Nuda à quelques grands noms de la scène orchestrale : Zdenek Macal à la tête de l’Orchestre philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Lorin Maazel en compagnie du Symphonica Arturo Toscanini, Jiri Belohlavek au pupitre du BBC Symphony, l’Orchestre National de Lyon et son directeur musical Jun Markl, et bien-sûr l’Orchestre de Besançon Franche-Comté et son indéfectible chef Peter Csaba. Avec aussi les pianistes Rudolph Buchbinder et Philippe Cassard, les ensembles Il Giardino armonico et Cassiopée, le Nederlands kamerkoor, l’organiste Dong-Ill Shin, etc…
