Animer un festival, c’est aussi se mettre au diapason des lieux. Abrité depuis sa création en 1987 dans le riche écrin de l’Abbaye Saint-Michel, le festival de musique ancienne et baroque innove cette année en faisant se répondre intérieur et extérieur, introspection et féérie, avec la nuit pour trait d’union : le vendredi 1er juillet au soir, Martin Gester et le Parlement de musique donneront les Leçons de Ténèbres de Couperin, composées en 1714, l’année même de la consécration de l’orgue de l’abbaye. Quelques heures plus tard, Bartabas et Le Caravage, cheval fétiche, accompagneront dans les jardins le lever de soleil au son de la viole de gambe d’Emmanuelle Guigues. Parmi les habitués du festival, toujours décliné en dimanches musicaux, on retrouve Ton Koopman pour des cantates de Buxtehude (Membra Jesu nostri) et Bach (Actus tragicus), Jordi Savall, Paul Agnew et les Arts florissants ou encore Hervé Niquet et Le Concert spirituel.
