C’est une porte grande ouverte sur l’ailleurs que perce chaque année le festival de l’imaginaire. Aux productions usinées en série pour satisfaire le marché mondialisé, les artistes présentés ici opposent la variété bariolée des cultures et la richesse des traditions. Quelque dix-sept spectacles venus des quatre coins du globe, une rencontre-débat sur la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel, une exposition d’Alfredo Vilchis Roque sur les Ex-voto contemporains du Mexique et des projections de la fameuse Classe morte de Tadeuz Kantor sont au programme et témoignent de la richesse des arts.
Un programme très musical
La musique domine cette treizième édition, avec notamment les chants et orgue à bouche du Laos interprétés par les Molams et Mokhènes, des chants soufis du Pakistan par Mehr Ali et Sher Ali Qawwals, les flûtistes et percussionnistes algériens de Beni Salah, l’Ensemble de musique classique Baganda de l’Ouganda ou encore les Suites d’Alep d’Hassan Haffar et ses Mounchid, l’Ensemble pour instruments traditionnels et nouvelles technologies d’Argentine… Pour la danse, le Ballet du Kraton de Surakarta présente un florilège de la danse de cour javanaise, les Zambiens dévoilent leurs rites masqués Chewa, tandis que le coréen Yong-bu Ha montre les « Danses de l’homme », et que l’indonésien Eko Supriyanto réinterprète la mythologie. Quant au théâtre, il se joue sur le mode des Joutes poétiques de Sardaigne et des Baléares, des contes gallos de Haute-Bretagne avec Albert Poulain, du théâtre d’ombres Wayang Kulit de Java. Autant de spectacles aux codes radicalement différents de nos habitudes. Une chance, on peut en six semaines faire le tour du monde à Paris, et les découvrir !
