« De la chimie à l’alchimie ». C’est sous cette bannière qu’Apolline Quintrand, à la barre depuis les débuts de l’aventure, a placé le Festival de Marseille cette année. « Cette 14e édition lance donc l’idée de l’alchimie quand menacent la concurrence et l’isolement, poursuit la directrice. En ces temps de turbulence et de cynisme économique et social, où l’argent n’a plus de raison et la raison plus d’éthique, le Festival croit en la confiance, aux fidélités bilatérales avec des auteurs, des partenaires, des acteurs culturels. » Ces mots gravés dans l’édito n’étaient pas vains, puisque, contraint de renoncer à occuper le Hangar 15 sur le Grand port maritime de Marseille, qui devait être investi par Christian Rizzo et former le pivot de l’édition 2009, le festival a su trouver des soutiens pour se redéployer dans la ville. Bref, même recomposé à la minute, le programme ne manque pas de créations ni de découvertes, venues d’Argentine, de Belgique, du Canada, de Chine, du Japon, du Liban, des USA, et bien sûr de France. A l’image de la métropole méditerranéenne, foisonnante, plurielle, mosaïque, il montre la variété des esthétiques et croise danse, cirque, concert, exposition, projection ou encore performance pour décliner toutes les nuances de l’art d’aujourd’hui.
Une programmation très danse
Parmi les quelque 25 propositions, dont une dizaine gratuites, la danse domine, avec notamment Nieuwzart, ébouriffante création de Wim Vandekeybus sur des musiques live de Mauro Pawlowski, Humus vertebras, de la délicate Karine Ponties, l’intelligent Walk Talk Chlak de Pierre Droulers, ou l’hypnotique Miroku de Saburo Teshigawara et la très expressive Chambre de blanche de Ginette Maurin. Aurélien Bory défend les couleurs du cirque et trace le pont antre l’ici et l‘ailleurs, avec Les sept planches de la ruse, composé avec quatorze artistes de l’Opéra de Dalian, en Chine. Figurent aussi à l’affiche nombre d’artistes implantés dans la région tels que Christophe Haleb, Nathalie Négro, Frédéric Nevchehirlian, Katharina Christl et Simon Courchel ou le compositeur Jacques Diennet. Preuve s’il en fallait de la vitalité de la ville !
