René Koering est l’un des rares programmateurs qui ose. La prochaine édition du Festival de Radio France Montpellier, dont il est le directeur artistique, le prouve amplement. Pas moins de trois opéras sont donnés en première mondiale : Fedra du compositeur mussolinien Ildebrando Pizzetti (16 juillet), La Esmeraldade Louise Bertin, sur un livret de Victor Hugo (23 juillet) et Salustia du compositeur baroque Pergolèse (27 et 28 juillet). Quant aux « classiques », ils ne manqueront pas d’être revisités, comme le King Arthur de Purcell mis en scène par le duo de music-hall, Shirley et Dino, et dirigé par Hervé Niquet (15 et 17 juillet). Le Festival de Montpellier, ce sont aussi ses nombreux concerts gratuits donnés par les jeunes talents du moment, de la violoniste Fanny Clamagirand au claveciniste François Guerrier. Les curieux ne manqueront également pas l’exposition du Musée Fabre rassemblant quinze instruments « Stradivarius ».
