En ce début de saison théâtrale, trois mois avant l’ouverture de la sixième édition du festival Le Standard idéal (qui aura lieu du 24 janvier au 8 février 2009), un avant-goût d’international règne d’ores et déjà sur la MC93. En effet, répondant à une demande d’accueil de grandes institutions de Rhénanie du Nord-Westphalie — qui ont sélectionné une dizaine de propositions théâtrales parmi les plus marquantes créées en 2007/2008 dans ce land d’Allemagne — Patrick Sommier (directeur de La Maison de la Culture de la Seine Saint-Denis) a choisi de programmer trois de ces spectacles pour des représentations uniques les 5, 8 et 12 octobre. « Dans aucun autre land d’Allemagne, l’offre artistique n’est aussi importante qu’en Rhénanie du Nord-Westphalie, déclare Patrick Sommier. Cette région constitue l’un des pôles historiques de la culture théâtrale allemande. Fidèle à la longue tradition d’ouverture internationale de la MC93, c’est avec grand plaisir que j’accueille ces trois remarquables propositions. »
Woyzeck, Medea, Les Main sales
Au programme de ce nouveau rendez-vous franco-allemand : Woyzeck de Georg Büchner, mis en scène par David Bösch, jeune artiste de 30 ans associé au Théâtre d’Essen ; Medea d’Euripide, dans « une lecture moderne et précise, à la frontière du théâtre et de l’opéra », signée par le directeur du Théâtre de Bonn, Klaus Weise ; enfin, Die Schmutzigen Hände (Les Mains sales) de Jean-Paul Sartre, dans une version actualisée conçue par le jeune metteur en scène Sebastian Baumgarten. Mise en perspective des modes d’expressions, des conceptions et des pratiques artistiques : ce pas vers l’ouest de créateurs venus de Rhénanie du Nord-Westphalie est une occasion supplémentaire de découvrir, à Bobigny, de nouveaux artistes, de confronter nos regards à des ailleurs théâtraux. « Un festival, c’est aussi fait pour bousculer les esprits, affirmait Patrick Sommier dans nos colonnes, en janvier 2008, à propos de la cinquième édition du Standard idéal (La Terrasse n°154). Gageons que ces trois soirées sauront, elles aussi, susciter discussions, enthousiasmes et exaltations.
