On pouvait se demander ce qu’allait devenir le Festival de Sablé après le départ, l’année dernière, de son directeur et fondateur Jean-Bernard Meunier. Soyons rassurés : la nouvelle directrice, Alice Orange, n’a pas souhaité de rupture avec le travail de son prédécesseur et poursuit l’exploration du répertoire baroque. Avec cette année une thématique originale : la musique ancienne portugaise. En recréation mondiale sera monté L’Ippolito de Francisco Antonio de Almeida, composé en 1752 pour l’anniversaire de l’infante du Portugal devenue reine d’Espagne (23 août). L’ensemble Los Musicos de su Alteza ressuscite de son côté l’opéra de José de Nebra Amor Aumenta el valor (24 août). Quant aux musiques de la communauté lusophone (Brésil, Cap vert, Macao), elles sont à l’affiche du concert de l’ensemble Sete Lagrimas (25 août). La Sarthe n’a jamais été aussi dépaysante…
