Cette trentième édition dessinée par Olivier Desbordes s’inspire d’ouvrages majeurs pour célébrer la liberté. « La liberté de Suzanne des Noces de Figaro contre le droit de cuissage des hommes, de Rosine du Barbier de Séville contre un tuteur abusif, ou encore celle de s’aimer des Roméo et Juliette modernes de West Side Story » souligne le directeur du festival. La programmation est dominée par le spectacle d’ouverture au Château de Castelnau-Bretenoux, une nouvelle production des Noces de Figaro mise en scène par Eric Perez et dirigée par Joël Suhubiette. « Sous une apparente légèreté, il est question de désir, d’amour blessé, de douleur, de possession, de soumission de classe et de sexe, de mensonge, d’abus de pouvoir, en résumé : une exploration très inquiétante de l’ombre humaine » souligne le metteur en scène. A noter aussi une version de concert de West Side Story, un concert du Chœur de Chambre Les Eléments, la comédie musicale Sur les cendres en avant de Pierre Notte, un hommage du saxophoniste de jazz Jean-Marc Padovani (originaire de la région) au brésilien Hermeto Pascual, etc.
