« Plus que jamais la musique nous est essentielle. Elle est notre langue commune, partageons-la encore davantage » lance Nathalie Rappaport, directrice du festival qui vient de commencer à Saint-Denis et dans les villes alentours, sur fond d’imminente Coupe d’Europe de football : « Sept grands matchs auront lieu au Stade de France à quelques pas de la Basilique. Cela nous a amené à proposer, en deuxième partie de festival, quelques concerts destinés à un public élargi et encore plus diversifié. C’est le cas avec le rock poétique de Rosemary Standley, la 9e symphonie de Beethoven ou encore les Amazones d’Afrique » précise-t-elle. La programmation poursuit par ailleurs judicieusement ses collaborations avec ses jeunes et brillants ensembles préférés : Pygmalion dans Bach et Mendelssohn, la Cappella Mediterranea de Leonardo Garcia Alarcon dans le Requiem de Donizetti, Le Balcon dans Stockhausen (voir notre entretien) et le Secession Orchestra pour un concert-lecture avec Julie Depardieu et Charles Berling. Les formations musicales de Radio-France, piliers historiques du festival, seront de nouveau à l’honneur, comme lors de la Neuvième symphonie de Beethoven en compagnie de l’Orchestre national de France dirigé par Michele Mariotti en clôture du festival (les 23 et 24 juin).
