CHŒURS ET ORCHESTRES / SAINT-DENIS
C’est avec un oratorio de notre temps que s’ouvre cette année le Festival de Saint-Denis. Hommage à la philosophe Simone Weil, La Passion de Simone de Kaija Saariaho, sur un livret d’Amin Maalouf, emprunte également la forme des Passions de Bach. Cette première française de la nouvelle version de l’œuvre donne le ton d’un festival très largement ouvert à la voix, en ses déclinaisons le plus souvent religieuses ou mystiques, à commencer le 3 juin par un étonnant diptyque où aux cantiques d’Hildegard von Bingen (xiie siècle) répondra leur réinterprétation par le trompettiste Ibrahim Maalouf, entouré de cuivres et de la Maîtrise de Radio France. Suivront des Cantates de Bach (le 10 juin) chantées et dirigées par Nathalie Stutzmann, également soliste de la Symphonie « Résurrection » de Mahler avec l’Orchestre national de France dirigé par James Gaffigan (les 5 et 6 juin), les Vêpres solennelles de Mozart et le Requiem de Michael Haydn par l’Ensemble Pygmalion de Raphaël Pichon (le 11 juin), le Stabat Mater de Dvorak dirigé par Jakub Hrusa (le 13), le Déluge universel de Falvetti ressuscité par Leonarda Garcia Alarcon (le 20), la Petite Messe solennelle de Rossini avec Accentus et l’Orchestre de chambre de Paris (le 24) ou encore Elias de Mendelssohn, dirigé par Daniele Gatti (les 26 et 27).
