Impossible de se lasser de ces majestueux rendez-vous avec l’Histoire, le temps et les partitions majeures que nous propose chaque année à la même époque depuis quarante ans le Festival de Saint-Denis. Nathalie Rappapport, directrice depuis 2011, a le plus naturellement du monde prolongé la ligne musicale métissée de son prédécesseur Jean-Pierre Le Pavec, alternant les grands oratorios de référence du répertoire et des créations intrépides où les musiques du monde croisent les langages de la musique classique. Après le concert d’ouverture dirigé par Sir Colin Davis, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, autre immense chef anglais, aura l’honneur du concert de clôture, avec le Requiem de Berlioz qui devrait prendre immanquablement dans le contexte monumental de la fabuleuse basilique un relief saisissant (les 28 et 30 juin). Deux autres grands moments sont attendus entretemps avec la Messe du Couronnement (mais aussi la Symphonie n°38 « Prague ») dirigée par Jérémie Rhorer au podium de son Cercle de l’Harmonie et la Messe en si bémol de Schubert interprétée par l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France placé sous la baguette de Daniel Harding, autre chef anglais !
