Le chef d’orchestre Hervé Niquet est désormais le nouveau directeur artistique du festival de Saint-Riquier. Pour la 30ème édition de la manifestation, il a choisi d’inscrire pleinement sa programmation au cœur des spécificités architecturales et historiques du lieu et du patrimoine de la région. Ainsi, on pourra entendre les grandes pages du répertoire vocal au sein de l’Abbaye, à différentes heures de la journée. Hervé Niquet (picard lui-même) a par ailleurs souhaité que les concerts soient annoncés dans la langue picarde et les programmes, bilingues. Au programme de cette édition anniversaire, on pourra entendre des tubes : la 9ème symphonie de Beethoven pour la soirée d’ouverture, dirigée par Jean-Claude Casadesus et interprétée par l’Orchestre National de Lille. Le Brussel Philharmonic et le Choeur de la Radio flamande, placés sous la houlette d’Hervé Niquet, donneront un programme de musique sacrée et le violoniste Laurent Korcia interprétera le célèbre concerto de Mendelssohn. La musique baroque est à l’honneur avec l’Ensemble Les Surprises de Louis Noël Bestion de Camboulas qui interprétera notamment des oeuvres de Haendel et Rameau. Et un feu d’artifice final, au sens premier du terme : les Fireworks de Haendel, en spectacle pyrotechnique, donnés par le Concert spirituel et Hervé Niquet of course.
