Depuis sa fondation en 1973, le Festival de musique de Sully et du Loiret est placé aux avant-postes de la grande saison des festivals d’été. Résolument grand public, sa programmation mêle les genres et les époques. Quelques lignes de force apparaissent pour cette 37e édition et tout d’abord, un intéressant versant baroque. Trois programmes s’intéressent en effet au tournant du xviie siècle en Angleterre (une soirée Purcell par le BarokOpera Amsterdam le 22 mai en l’église Saint-Germain de Sully), dans l’Europe méditerranéenne (une évocation de l’œuvre de Domenico Scarlatti de l’Italie à l’Espagne par l’Ensemble Jacques Moderne de Joël Suhubiette, le 28 mai en l’eglise de Lorris) et en Europe centrale (le 4 juin en l’abbatiale de Beaugency avec le rare Requiem pour August II de Zelenka par le Collegium 1704, jeune formation tchèque déjà remarquée dans les festivals de Sablé et La Chaise-Dieu). Cependant, l’éventail chronologique des programmes est bien plus ouvert, des chants de pèlerinage de l’Europe médiévale (par l’excellent ensemble vocal Kantika, à Germigny le 27 mai) à la musique de chambre du compositeur Vincent Paulet (né en 1962), interprétée à Beaugency le 5 juin par un ensemble de musiciens autour du Quatuor Parisii. Le grand répertoire n’est cependant pas oublié, confié à des artistes tels l’altiste Youri Bashmet, le violoncelliste Jérôme Pernoo, les pianistes François Chaplin et Emmanuel Strosser ou le Trio Portici.
